Black Jersey Giant
The term "giant" is right for these tall, stately birds with shiny black feathers. In fact, Black Jersey Giant Chickens are the largest dual-purpose chicken breed. The breed was developed in the 1880s in New Jersey by breeders who wanted a large roasting bird. While Jersey Giants grow to a large size, they do it slowly. Jersey Giants also lay 180-200+ brown eggs per year. They are a sustainable heritage breed and have a calm and docile personality.
Average mature weight: Roosters 13 lbs., Hens 10 lbs.
PICKUP POLICY
Orders can be picked up Monday through Friday this week from 4:00-6:00. We will not hold orders past Friday. There will be no rescheduling or refunds for orders not picked up. There is no guarantee of mortality or morbidity once poultry leaves our store. Be sure to check your box of chicks before you leave.
