Naan Mahaan Alla (I am no saint) is a 2010 Tamil action film written and directed by Suseenthiran. It stars Karthi, Kajal Aggarwal, Jayaprakash and Soori. The film is based on a real-life incident and follows Jeeva, a carefree young man whose father becomes the target of a gang of young criminals after witnessing a kidnapping. The film was released on 20 August 2010 and received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. The film was also dubbed in Telugu as Naa Peru Shiva and in Hindi as Main Hoon Naamdev.

The film begins with Jeeva (Karthi), an unemployed graduate who lives a happy life with his father Pragasam (Jayaprakash), a call taxi driver, his mother (Lakshmy Ramakrishnan), and his sister Keerthi (Krishna Priya). Jeeva meets Priya (Kajal Aggarwal) at their friend's wedding and falls in love with her. Priya's father (Vairavan) agrees to their marriage on the condition that Jeeva gets a job first. Jeeva manages to get a job as a bank manager, but soon loses it due to his carefree attitude.
Meanwhile, Pragasam witnesses a kidnapping of a young couple by a gang of five men led by Rajeevan (J. Mahendran). Pragasam tries to help the couple, but is chased away by the gang. He later sees the news report of the couple's murder and identifies the killers from their photos. He decides to inform the police, but is attacked by the gang before he can do so. He survives the attack and is admitted to the hospital. The gang tries to kill him again in his absence, but Jeeva manages to save him.
Jeeva realizes that his father is in danger and decides to take responsibility for his family. He reclaims his lost job and arranges for his sister's marriage. He also accompanies his father to the police station, where Pragasam helps the investigating officer (Ravi Prakash) by providing clues about the killers. The gang learns that Pragasam has identified them and hires Pey Babu (Ramachandran Durairaj), an influential politician and uncle of one of the gang members, to plan and execute Pragasam's murder.
One day, when Jeeva and Pragasam go out for shopping, they are separated by a fake phone call from the gang. The gang then creates a stampede in the market and stabs Pragasam with a piece of poisoned glass shard. Pragasam dies in Jeeva's arms, leaving him devastated. Jeeva tells the police not to pursue the killers anymore, as he believes that justice will not be served in this corrupt system. He decides to take revenge on his own and tracks down the gang members one by one. He kills four of them in brutal ways, leaving only Rajeevan alive.
Rajeevan kidnaps Priya and calls Jeeva to meet him at an abandoned factory. Jeeva arrives there with a gun and confronts Rajeevan, who taunts him for being a coward and not a saint. Jeeva replies that he is not a saint, but neither is Rajeevan. He shoots Rajeevan in the leg and rescues Priya. He then engages in a fierce hand-to-hand fight with Rajeevan, who tries to stab him with a knife. Jeeva overpowers Rajeevan and stabs him in the chest, killing him. He then walks away with Priya, leaving behind the dead bodies of the gang.
The film ends with Jeeva narrating that he has no regrets for what he did, as he believes that he did the right thing. He says that he is not a saint, but he is not a sinner either. He is just a human being who loves his family and values his life.
